A little plausible deniability wrapped in humor, you say? Matt Sienkiewicz and Nick Marx have a really good book that you might like that does a deep dive into that strategy, it’s “That’s Not Funny: How the Right Makes Comedy Work for Them”

Would you mind qualifying earlier on that this post is about potential connections to *American* Nazis, rather than the German originals? Obviously the distinction isn't huge ideologically, but it's relevant to understanding the dynamics of the broader reactionary movement that Huss and the various Nazis were all part of, and I spent the first couple paragraphs unsure where this article was going to go.

One day after reading this piece, I'm listening to this great podcast (https://open.spotify.com/show/7JirL3UVKjyy5MTy8PouHh), and the hosts are talking about Norman Mailer conflating Jewishness and Irishness in some of his novels. I wonder if Mailer was reading/ influenced/ aware of this antisemitic trope?
