Why subscribe?

This is a newsletter devoted to the history of the far right in the US. I’m working on a book about a far right activist from Oregon named Walter Huss, and I will be posting short essays on different aspects of his life and career (and how they intersect with the history of the far right in the US more broadly) for subscribers on a weekly basis beginning in early May. Each essay will be richly illustrated with images from the 57 boxes of archival material Huss left behind (and which is housed at the University of Oregon library).

Join a community of folks who (perhaps like you?) have an unhealthy amount of curiosity about the history of the far right in Oregon and the US

One thing I’ve come to greatly appreciate about sharing my research on Twitter is that people often respond with questions or insights that redirect or clarify my thinking in useful ways. What I hope will happen with this newsletter is that the sort of Twitter folks who share my admittedly odd fascination with people like Walter Huss will continue to engage with each other and me here. Each subscriber-only newsletter will have a comment section which I’ll read and participate in.
